Flood Tide

After the peace and calm of yesterday's sunrise blip, which was taken from a spot on the very left of this shot, today's is the very opposite. Strong south easterly winds and and a flood tide mean heavy seas at Waterfoot. As the large waves meet the river a cauldron of foaming brackish water is created.

The strange thing is that within quite a short distance the force of the waves is almost totally absorbed by the river and the rest of the estuary is quite calm. I have added other pictures in my Blipfoto file at Waterfoot
including one of the small white boat at top right of blip, to show the amazing difference in approximately 100 metres of water.

I was going to blip the upturned white boat but decided on the cauldron because of the energy and movement of the water.
