People on a Bridge

Y is for the Young Ones

Inspired by a friend and a fellow blipper kaitlynbrooke, I am doing a mini-blip challenge. For the next eight days I will focus on things that I am grateful for.

I will spell with my posts "thank you". :-) This is a sixth post in the series.

Y is for the Young Ones. The ones who think that making a Halloween costume with Dad out of a cardboard box is the coolest thing ever. The ones who get so hurt when something "is not fair!" The ones who still believe that kissing a busted knee makes the pain go away. The ones who laugh and cry with all of their beings. The ones who ask questions whenever they don't know something without being embarrassed about doing so. The ones who hug and kiss like they mean it. The ones who ask how are you today and actually want to know the answer.

It is also for the slightly older Young Ones. Adults according to the calendar, but still so hopeful and un-jaded. Slightly embarrassed to ask when they don't know, yet still having the sense to ask. Trying on their parents' shoes, and finding with surprise that the size is right while it doesn't quite feel right to wear them. They still believe in magic, and can be inspired if we try. And we need to keep trying, every single day, because they are the ones with the enthusiasm and the potential to make this world a better place.

Here is to the Young Ones!
