Crabs

Another Wednesday away game for our daughter's Long Beach City volleyball team means another Wednesday exploring some small section of Los Angeles. Today's destination is Redondo Beach and its famous horseshoe pier. It is a beautiful late fall day, sunny and quite warm. The area is very empty, just a few locals walking around the mostly closed shops and restaurants. The two fish markets, however, were open for business, selling a variety of crustaceans like these live crabs shown here. I have taken many a crab photo (especially while living in Zihuatanejo, Mexico), but have never managed to captured the textures and colors visible until today. I'm glad I kept trying for the shot I had envisioned.
