Season of Plenty

Another beautiful sunny day -- not what we usually get in November! -- and among the delicious items I brought home from my Saturday morning photo shoot-and-shop at the farmers' market was freshly ground whole wheat flour from locally grown hard red wheat. I haven't made bread in years, but flour this fresh may be just the impetus I need.

Dairy and raspberry farming are most common here, with a number of farmers also raising a wide range of vegetables and fruits. This area is not known for grain, but one of the local farmers has been successful on a small scale.

Here are a few more photos -- everything from a giant beet weathervane to the best brewpub around!
