Ravana

another favourite thing from work...

This can be found in the same case as yesterday's venetian mask, but this one is from India. it's another modern creation which depicts Ravana the 10 headed demon king...

This would be worn as part of a chhau dance showing a battle scene using really energetic moves and lots of jumping around... there's a clip on you tube of some example dances....

I love the colours and the bling, and the expression as if it's roaring at you...

All those heads are quite mesmerising : )
