Under the Arches

This is a view from Bradford's Forster Square railway station, looking up to the rear of converted warehouses on Manor Row.

Forster Square station provides a much finer arrival point to the city than the Interchange, with the high railway arches leading the approach past the relatively grand Midland Hotel into the city centre. The elevated buildings give a real sense of being in a city.

Today I was attracted by the splash of autumn colour, although most of the leaves have now fallen. The copper tones work nicely against the sandstone buildings, which have some warmth even on a dull November day.

towering arches ~ holding up a stone city ~ leaves fall all around
