Threatening

The dark clouds hung over the hills behind Dunoon all day, piled there, it seemed, by the strong wind blowing from the east. The sun shone only when it was in the east - by midday it had disappeared. St John's Church (Church of Scotland) is still under the massive scaffolding of its second stage of maintenance; I blanche to think what it must be costing.

Interesting ( to me, at least) to notice how much less visible the new Dunoon Grammar School building is compared to its previous incarnation. It is almost dead centre of this photo - white, but low. It will not, however, be less noticeable to the people who live across the road from it, as it's much closer to the road than its predecessor.
