2011 Challenge : Wind

I thought this fitted the theme for the week, the handle winding up the hose reel, after the first connection to our new outside tap. We haven't had one before, and it made washing the car so much easier. Thanks to #1 who did the necessary.

Up early, two loads of washing done before the plumbers arrived at 9 am, to adjust the pipe work and move the washing machine into the new utility room. Another two test washes, all out on the line and dry by sundown around 4.15 pm. 12C in mid November, who would have thought it.

I am exhausted, I've worked really hard today cleaning out all the new cupboards. Reminded me of moving in, except on a smaller scale, trying to decide where to put things, and then re-arranging half an hour later. And then the usual weekend housework on top of that. However, a certain sense of satisfaction that, at last, things are starting to come together and the builders have almost finished.

Next we have to think about tiles, flooring, what colour to paint the place, and how to fill the gap in the kitchen were the washing machine was. Unfortunately our kitchen units are no longer manufactured, so any helpful suggestions of how to cleverly fill a 600mm space are very welcome. And don't suggest a new kitchen .... after what we've been through since 1 August, that is a step too far right now.
