A man and his dog

It's not often you see a man with a little dog and Frank is a real little character.

The hunter and I were at The Brewery which is close enough to be classified as my local (if you're happy to make a short drive).

Frank and his owner Peter live close enough to walk there. Frank and another dog parked at the next table exchanged snarls from time to time. Frank has just had a telling off and was happy to sit in his master's arms and drop his lip for best effect ;-)

We also met Frank's mate Ross. Ross is in the progress of emigrating from Yorkshire to Christchurch. He's been here since May and hopes to have his wife and 2 kids with him by the end of the month. Yes, that's choosing Christchurch to emigrate to after the Feb earthquake.

I admire Ross and his family. Life is an adventure and to be lived to the full. They've not been to NZ before and despite the earthquakes still felt Christchurh was a good choice. He loves it and his family can't wait to join him.

Great to know there is a small trickle of people arriving against the flow of people leaving.

No fish and chip shop today. But I did surprise the hunter by ordering fish and chips with my beer so I guess in a round about way this still qualifies as a fish and chip blip ;-)
