Post

Here's an old post. A new post of an old post.

Today I walked some miles of moorland checking a fenceline on an RSPB reserve called Hobbister. Heather moorland is not the most photogenic of places, especially at this time of the year and in low cloud, as I often was. Also, as it is a reserve, there are no sheep, so no sheep tracks. This makes the going quite difficult. Every ten metres or so I'd trip over. It adds to the wearying nature of the walk as does the lack of landmarks and resultant seeming lack of forward progress. Few birds there, only red grouse and fieldfares overhead.

And I didn't see any hobbists.
