hm. it's been a while since i've posted on the day on a regular basis, for the past year it's been mostly backblipping in chunks now and then - tho i do still take a photo more days than not; but unless you're a facebook friend of mine you probly won't see them til months later! (this is mid-june, right? actually i'm posting and writing this in mid-nov ...)

thanks to all those subscribers who've not deleted me for inaction, tardiness and total lack of comment - i do keep thinking i'll get back to it, but i have less free time than i did due to work and i try and spend some of it offscreen. whenever i do click through tho, you all are doing great things! also thanks to all those who have commented over the years also, much appreciated.

finally, wtf is this picture??? popped to northumberland for the day to go to the dentist (yes, he's worth travelling 90 miles for) and had a poke round the garden at lunchtime: dad found himself a new source of veggie seeds at last year's harrogate autumn show, in the shape of medwyn's catalogue and is testing out some exhibition (ie, giant) varieties. this, my friends, is how you grow exhibition blanch leeks (big long skinny ones) the old-fashioned, non-polytunnel way. pipes, special compost, secret feed, and sunshine :-)
