Love Those Spines

For years I've complimented this manly saguaro on his long dark spines. Yet, have I ever bothered to photograph his outstanding asset? No. Not till today.
With camera in hand, I circled him several times in search of that combo of angle and light to really show his stuff, Twenty minutes after I started, the sun dropped lower in the sky and created this silhouette effect. That's what it took to highlight what I really loved about him.
