sound as a pound

8:30pm and I'm doing some live sound mixing for Yvonne and David Lyon.

KCC are hosting a cafe concert tonight and I have the pleasure of helping their sound reach people's ears.

I forget the simple pleasure of mixing live sound. Especially when you are dealing with great performers.

It's been a great day too. Played with the weeWeir for a bit, out for a run, made bread and soup, watched a film together, played some more, prepped some songs for tomorrow and packed a few things in the car for taking tonight.

I'm operating a digital mixing desk tonight, which is great fun. Only thing not quite according to plan is getting sound routes to the built in effects, but the venue (KCC) has pretty lively acoustics, so it's not a major deal.

Something to learn for next time.
