Barrier No.3

I love cycling over the Churchill Barriers on a bonnie day. Flat and straight with a couple of wee hills over the islands in between makes for some very easy and pleasant cycling.

It kind of feels like you're cycling through the sea. Wildlife pretty much ignores you, so you get some great views of birds that normally scoot off as fast as they can. I've also seen otters hunting about in the seaweed and slipping in and out of the water at the foot of the blocks.

Of course, this is when the sea is calm and there are no waves crashing over the top. Don't fancy cycling on a day like this.
