This morning a friend and I drove in to the local bus station and boarded a bus to Edinburgh as we had tickets for the matinee performance of the musical Top Hat starring Tom Chambers (of Strictly fame). As the bus was crossing the Forth Road Bridge I spotted this naval ship - destroyer? - sailing underneath the Forth Railway Bridge, being escorted out of the Firth by two tugs. I have been across this bridge many times but have not seen this before so was thankful I had my camera with me. The picture was taken through the window of the moving bus so I was quite pleased with the result ....and grateful that the window was clean! You can see that visibility is not brilliant again as you can only just make out the coastline in the distance.

Top Hat is the new stage version of the classic Hollywood movie which starred Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. It was most enjoyable with the familiar tunes and lyrics by Irving Berlin and some excellent tap dancing by Tom and the entire cast. After the theatre we adjourned to John Lewis for some retail therapy before retracing our steps home via bus and car respectively.

The house is very empty without Cara and Bruce and I look forward to tomorrow morning when I can collect them from kennels and whisk them away for a good long walk. I am very lucky that the kennels here are really good and both dogs obviously feel very welcome there as they go into their shared kennel willingly.
