Sugared almonds

......... Not quite! This is looking down on the centre of a young pine tree which I believe is Pinus Sylvestris, the Scots Pine. These "sugar coated" young buds are patiently awaiting spring when they will start to extend and become immature stems. I will try and blip the various stages as it is fascinating to see the way they develop. I watched the progress last year and made a mental note to start blipping them from this stage onwards - and I remembered!

I hope your week end is a bit warmer than here where it has remained very chilly and damp all day.

PS Thank you for your comments and stars on my view of the snowy mountain yesterday as it hit the Spotlight, albeit briefly at the end of the day, but it was there!
