A time for everything

Walk in the park

Our eldest daughter, Jen and her husband, Jason are home for a flying visit. They flew in late yesterday morning from Houston, and they have to leave tomorrow afternoon, but we're thrilled to have them, no matter how short the time! Our youngest daughter is still in Belize until December 21st, and our son is staying in New Mexico for the holiday weekend, but they will all be home for Christmas. Weather-wise, yesterday was a dismal day - grey and wet all day. While I was driving down to the airport it was raining so hard I could hardly see where I was going at times, and the cloud cover was so low, that the recently opened Great American Tower, Cincinnati's tallest building was disappearing into the clouds. Today, by contrast was blue sky and sunshine. We celebrated our Thanksgiving meal a day early so that we could enjoy it in a relaxed fashion, rather than thinking we had to get it done by such a time in order to leave for the airport. There was time in the late afternoon to walk some of it off at Glenwood Gardens, whilst enjoying the late afternoon light. In the evening we had our Thanksgiving Eve service at church,at which Roger and I were singing in the choir and playing with the Joyful Noise handbell choir. It was followed by a Pumpkin pie fellowship - actually there were all sorts of pies, not just pumpkin!
