Houses on Thanksgiving

We were invited for Thanksgiving dinner by my cousin Walter, his wife Joan, and other family members. They live about an hour west of Boston, in the picturesque town of Grafton.

It's just before sunset; their house is on the right. It was built in 1835 (the date is on the left front, though not quite legible). It's in the Gothic Revival style; they have restored it wonderfully from a quite run-down condition when they moved in just under two years ago. It was a lovely setting for a fabulous meal in wonderful company.

The larger house in the rear is fairly typical of other houses in the neighborhood.
