Thanksgiving

We are so very thankful to have some of our family here at the island - it was a stormy day but the power stayed on and the pies got baked. Tatum did a wonderful job with the table decorations and settings, placecards, the pie crust and the cornbread and being server, and made a beautiful menu. The menu included the drinks,(Apple juice, Fizzy water- homemade, milk, orange juice, soymilk, coke, all "free") vegie field Roast, vegie gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, roasted brussel sprouts, carrots, cranberry sauce, stuffing, green salad with pears, cornbread, smoked salmon, pizza, noodles -all "free" and both pumpkin and apple pies, whipped cream and ice cream, also "free" ! Tatum had pizza, cornbread and pie. Not sure what Fiona ate. The girls and I spent some time in the studio while everyone else was walking ( and d-i-l K gave a physical therapy consult to our friend P on the island) doing the turkey decorations -oh my, it looks like a hurricane has blown through. Fiona had to look in everything. She is full of energy the likes of which we wish we had more of! - We had so much food we won't have to cook again for days I don't think. A LOVELY time! We are so glad they live nearby and are here for this holiday! (and here's that traditional at the table photo...)

Actually I changed the photo: made this collage last night but had trouble uploading it. Just gave it a try Friday am and this worked. It includes Tatum and her Dad making the pies, and Tatum writing her blip from yesterday on my computer tethered to the iphone, and Fiona and her Mom "relaxing" (Ha- Fi doesn't relax) after that big dinner. Fi likes to take her shirt off and show how she painted her belly button earlier in the studio.

Also H is thankful that he and P got the TV to work - at least there was a good picture for 10 minutes! (weak signal, but there is hope I think...) the dvd works great. :-)
The tides have been so high this week and it's been so stormy, the beach fort the kids made is almost all gone....
