Here Come the Holidays

If Thanksgiving has come and gone, can the end-of-the-year/winter holidays be far behind?

We took youngest daughter G. ice skating at the outdoor rink next to the mall this noon, and this festive bike, spray-painted scarlet and adorned with flowers, was parked near one of the entrances.

We celebrated Thanksgiving at home with most of our family: pretty low-key, opting for perhaps the fifth year in a row to not roast a turkey (we had Cornish hens instead), and it was therefore so much easier and more stress-free. Daughter #3 made a Mochacchino Pie, and I made a Pear-Ginger Pie with hand-cut pie pastry leaves instead of a lattice.

On another note, I would like to re-share a link to my year of writing (at least) a poem a day at Dave Bonta's Via Negativa site. I hope you enjoy reading through the poems. Thank you!
