Winged Figure

A detour on my way home this morning took me to the Hepworth Museum in Wakefield. As well as visiting artists the Museum celebrates the sculptures of Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moor, both of whom were born near to Wakefield in West Yorkshire.

This perhaps odd view of Hepworth's Winged Figure (1961-3) is the aluminium prototype for the sculpture commissioned by John Lewis for their Oxford Street (London) store.

The Museum is not far from the M1 and well worth a visit.

PS Thanks for all the comments yesterday, obviously there are lots of 'posh pud' lovers out there.
