Leek as long as your arm!
We picked up some leek at the Farmer's Market in Aurora on Saturday. I had to do a double-take at first. We've seen some big leeks in our day but never this long - not the edible stalk, anyway! Apparently, it's Chinese leek. I'm told it's essentially the same as our North American (European leek) but with longer stalks. Four dollars for the bunch. It will be part of dinner (sweet potatoes, pork roast, onions) and soup tonight (potato & leek). I'll cook up the rest and freeze it in dinner batches. Yum!
