I was thinking I might do a Scotland the World Over blip, but this was too important not to be my blip of the day. Thousands of public sector workers gathered in Edinburgh to march down the Royal Mile to a rally outside the Scottish Parliament to protest against proposed cuts in public sector pensions. Members of many different unions were represented on a day of UK-wide industrial action. Key speaker, and one of those at the front of the demonstration was former Unison leader, Rodney Bickerstaffe, who delivered a passionate speech to the thousands gathered in front of the Scottish Parliament.
