Parnham House

Parnham House was originally built in the 1400s by Stephen de Parnham. Later the Strode family lived there and over the centuries it has been enlarged. During WWII it became a military hospital and more recently John Makepeace, the reknowned cabinet maker and wood worker established his school there.

The house is now in private ownership but C and I were lucky enough to visit the travelling Christmas market installed there today. We did buy a few pressies but it was much more exciting being nosy and enjoying many of the rooms and the garden outside and watching the fallow deer in the park sheltering from the wind under the trees.
