Happy St Andrew's Day!

In Edinburgh today, beautiful blue sky in the morning but by time I got out of meeting it had turned to grey and then shortly afterwards, black.

If I'd had time, would've like to take photos of 9 saltires on different buildings around the city centre (it was easier to count which buildings didn't have them flying today) and stitch them altogether, but alas not to be.

This shot is taken from the grounds of St Cuthbert's Church, which sits just off Lothian Road to one side and Princes Street gardens to the other. If you turn 180 degrees from where I am stood, you get a great shot up towards Edinburgh Castle. This shot looks a lot better when leaves on the trees or earlier in autumn with the nice colours.

4am alarm call. No whisky to toast St Andrew tonight!
