Probability parking...

I scored a mathematical success in the car park today.

The multi storey we were parking at was the type where you can follow the ramps round and upward or go past the ramp to more spaces on that current floor.

My probability calculation reasoned that with 3 cars in front of me already ascending the ramps, I was more likely to get a space on the current floor by not following them.

It was a small victory for thinking over following.
