Shouldn't You Be Somewhere Else?

Out for today and on a walk round Schierstein we saw a Stork. And not just this one, we saw another flying off for what must be the Stork's daily shop. All very strange. I had thought all the storks were off doing that "Well! We spend the winter in Africa" thing but apparently a couple of slacker Storks like to stay in Weedbaden*. I'm torn between being really pleased at seeing them and worrying about them. It's not like I can put a bag of frogs out in the bird feeder and know they won't be struggling for food (I'd love to see what the tits would make of that..."Oi, where's our fecking sunflower seeds then?"**)

We visited the Sternschnuppenmarkt for the first time this year and here's a not-so-secret secret, it was great. Really. I had a really good time. Maybe it was the gluehwein (really good but 2.50 Euro for a glass is expensive) or maybe it was the Flammbrot (American woman to her friend "It's like Pizza but so much better") or maybe it was just being out in winter sunshine listening to a school band almost murdering "Winter Wonderland". Whatever. I felt so happy, so filled with Joy, I laughed out loud.

It was so good I didn't feel that disappointed at missing the whole Moon thing that was going on in the east. I'm sure someone else Blipped that.

* Weedbaden. it's a graffito I see on the train and in the area it's painted there are a lot of people smoking some very specialised herb.

* Entschuldigung, wo finden wir unsere Sonnenblumenkerne? (German birds are so much more polite than British ones)
