Lunch companion

In contrast to yesterday, today was almost tropical with sunshine followed by warm rainy showers and back to sunshine.

I was dashing between meetings today but grabbed 10 minutes to eat my sandwich between a loch and the sea. As I was resisting the temptation to jump out and see if I could get a blip of some of the waterfowl passing by, this little Meadow Pipit solved my problem by posing right in front of my car.

I don't know exactly what this wee birdie was gathering up for his/her brood but it was very yellow and it seemed determined to fit far more than was sensible into it's tiny beak.
