Christmas Pageant

Today we attended the 33rd Annual Live Bethlehem Christmas Pageant.  Singing, narration, actors and live animals came together in this reenactment of the historical events surrounding the birth of Christ.

Seen here are just two of the many, many photos I took at the event.  As you can see I had a hard time picking just one. On the left is a young girl and her goat ~ a pygmy goat if I'm not mistaken. She was having a difficult time getting him to go where she wanted to go and was trying anything to coax him into moving.

The photo on the right is Tule ~ a female camel.  The gentleman handler explained to me that Tule is a hybrid camel.  She is half-Dromedary and half-Bactrain cross. These hybrids are the largest camels and make for good draft animals.  They have one large hump on their backs which is good for holding more children during rides.  The three camels in the pageant came all the way from Virginia.
