H o o r a y ! One of the ski areas opened for a special early s c h l o z z, and we didn't waste much time upon returning from our morning duties to hit those monstrously intimidating peaks. O h M y, Oh my. I was imagining it to be beautiful, but I hadn't quite envisioned t h i s. Thousands of metres high in the sky, a few short of the 4K mark, hoards of lucky ant-like humans in multicolours twizzled + fizzled, carving + marvelling their way down kilometres of baby snow beneath the beating winter-blue sun. Feeling like we were physically on top of the whole wide world, with only nature to be seen, as far as the weeping eyes could tell. Above clouds and above birds. And the buzzy business of city life seeming like an impossible reality already. Anna and two Dans, what a lucky girl. Burning legs + blueberry head, an elated Anna began exploring this new extensive playground, often popping back to a Dan, making excellent progress + storming some turns. The other Dan gradually introducing me to dissections of delectable dips + driving runs; and me resisting the temptation to attempt keeping up with his skinny expert legs + remembering that there's no rush- we've got 5 months of this! Word in town, is that they're opening again tomorrow morning. First lift Sunday, Je pense. .
