"Wilkommen, bienvenue, welcome, im cabaret, au cabaret, to cabaret!"

That's what I've been singing ever since taking this shot in Quiggins 'alternative' shopping centre (which is Liverpool's answer to Manchester's Afflecks Palace - for those who are familiar with that fine institution!) based, these days, in Grand Central Hall which is a Grade II Listed Building dating from 1905 - formerly a Methodist church, cinema and one-time home of Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

When the previous Quiggins site on School Lane was closed about 5 years ago to make way for part of the Liverpool One shopping development a lot of the shop owners moved to Grand Central Hall from where they've been plying their trade ever since.

Here you can buy all manner of new and vintage clothing, second hand records, ephemera and esoteric items! It's a haven for emos, goths, skaters and suchlike and a good place to have a browse on a cold and rainy December lunchtime.

PS Further to yesterday's blip, Banksy has been even more active in Liverpool than I'd realised and has just donated a sculpture to the Walker Art Gallery. I didn't have a chance to blip it today but I'll certainly be along to see it soon. You can read about it here... or better yet have a look at P3dro's blip!
