Mad skies..

Son number 1 is safely gathered in and is now eating and sleeping for Ireland!
I had to work in the big room today - we were mercifully free from festivities and did some work on gthe Great Pyramid - a welcome relief for all of us.

The skies were amazing as I came home - blueness followed by a mackerel sky followed by some sinsiter low lying stuff over the Mizen..
No sooner was I home than I had to go back out again to an emergency meeting in Dunmanway, held to discuss the fate of small schools and what can be done about it. The government, as part of its cost cutting exercise, is sneakily introducing stealth measures that will drastically affect small schools. There are 47 2 teacher schools in Cork and the pupil teacher ratio is being seriously compromised which in effect will mean closure or amalgamation. Amalgamation wont really work as all the schools are small, the buildings old and religions mixed. They have a fight on their hands.
Shepherd's pie is now ready so will catch up later!
