Lion--NY Public Library

Late this afternoon I went to the main building of the New York Public Library (42nd St. and 5th Avenue), to see a superb exhibition commemorating the centennial of that building.

The show includes over 250 items from the library's collection. For me, the high point was a modest handwritten draft of the Declaration of Independence by Thomas Jefferson himself. It's been extended through March 4th--well worth seeing.

This is one of the pair of large lions guarding the main entrance to the building.
