The Great Post Christmas Lunch Santa v Frosty Race

Excitement was building at the Table Stadium here this afternoon. Competitors were arriving throughout the main course of traditional Christmas Fayre featuring the lone sprout and novel vegetarian option. Several competitors arrived by air as enthusiastic cracker pullers launched them into space, others showed off early racing skills by skidding beneath the kitchen table and deftly avoiding the cat. One competitor, accidentally rolled up inside a party hat, missed a near fatal outcome of ending in the rubbish bin, when spotted by an eagle eyed diner. Following the clearance of the festive trifle and after dinner mints, the race track was set up (Tony having found the scissors in the cutlery drawer) and they were off. Such was the speed of some competitors that the camera was unable to catch them. Comment was passed that Santa no. 1, who veered off the track early in the race, could possibly have been at the red wine. The uphill section towards the end, caused by a crease in the track, created some problems for competitors but Santa no. 3 emerged victorious.

Hope you've all had a very Merry Christmas. We've skyped Becks, Rob and brother Rog and his family in the States - we miss them so it was good to hear them. I've had the best present ever from daughter Jen. She has secretly recorded one of my favourite Jim Croce songs - 'Time in a Bottle'. I haven't heard her sing and play since her grandmother's funeral - it is just lovely.
