Crazy evening

It's Saturday morning as I upload this. I was home much too late from a wonderful festival in a nearby town to sort out the pictures and upload one. Well after midnight actually. Hope you don't mind.

The festival is called Deventer op Stelten. Deventer being the name of the town and the festival is all about street theatre with people performing mainly on stilts. You know, those high poles which they strap under their feet.

They had the most beautiful costumes, lights, music, singing and dances were performed on various places in the town centre. Really unbelievable. Towards the end of this first night (the festival lasts for three days) there was a big show on the big town square. By then a massive crowd had gathered and a lot of cameras clicked. There was a kind of story behind it all, but that was kind of hard to detect. Didn't matter though. All these lights and music were sheer magic. This guy was dressed like a sort of clown but more like an evil charactre from a Batman movie. He sang his lungs out while lifted high in the air on some sort of elephant. It was great.

Had to rush to catch the very last train back to my home town, a 15 minute ride. Arrived home at one in the AM.
