Northampton Bridges

Our town of Northampton is not especially modern, which is part of its charm. These bridges are in the center of town, ca. seven minutes walk from our house. The one in the rear still services occasional freight trains (the letters BOSTON & MAINE are still faintly visible on it; it's the railroad that formerly operated in much of New England).

The bridge in front now serves as a biking and walking path. Its shadow on the bridge behind is a winter phenomenon (with the low sun). A large view brings out lots of detail. In the center, in the distance directly under the bridge is the store where I blipped the "Doggie in the Window" last April.
