Impending Blizzard

The first snowstorm of the season arrived in Northampton late this afternoon, and and by 9 pm when I shot this scene it had already turned into an near blizzard. The forecast is for 8 to 12 inches (20 to 30 cm) by tomorrow. View it LARGE.

The temperature was around 20 F (-6 C), and the bitter wind was gusting over 30 mph (50 kmph). We are on Market Street looking toward the corner with Bridge Street--the same view as here, including the building with the odd reflections that I blipped about three weeks ago. Heading back to our apartment took perhaps 15 minutes, into the teeth of the wind (twice as long as normal)

Boston is expected to get as much as two feet--and the strong winds everywhere will aggravate the effect.
