House on Elm Street

The blizzard forecast for last night in Northampton fell well short of expectations in the end, with only six inches of snow reported.

However, the strong wind (30-40 mph, with many higher gusts) kept up all night and through today, resulting in few picturesque accumulations of snow. So for a blip I resorted to one of the loveliest of many old houses on Elm Street, which runs past Smith College and is perhaps the most fashionable major street in Northampton. Here it is LARGE.

This house is similar in conception to the mansion blipped here (on the other side of town), though considerably less grand. I suspect it also dates to around 1900. Note that each house has a conspicuous tower anchoring a corner.

I put up yesterday's blip quite late, since it was a night shot.
