Racing river

This afternoon we walked up the path that runs alongside the Avon on Dartmoor. Walked as far as Avon Dam and back again to snacks and lashings of ginger beer before driving home again. (Only a half-hour drive, so a very pleasant outing.) Needed a good leg-stretch after Crimbo!

Across on the opposite bank you can see part of a furry tree. There were lots on either side - the trunks and branches so thickly coated in moss that, on some trees, there was even bracken growing out of the moss on the branches.

Lots of families were out walking and we spotted This Year's Most Popular Child's Christmas Prezzie - at least, we guess it must be, by the number of young children on their colourful little scooters! Hoards of dogs enjoying dips in the water, too.

It didn't rain and I even saw some spots of blue in the clouds above.
