Cobalt

Scilla ingridae

Sometimes described as being cobalt blue, this little squill is flowering very early this year, even the first snowdrops have yet to open fully. It is closely related to Scilla sibirica, the Russian squill, indeed it is sometimes called Scilla aibirica var taurica, the Turkish form of the Russian squill. I think we'll stick to Scilla ingridae, whatever the experts say .... and whoever Ingrid was!

Hoped for a crocus blip today, having several new ones in flower but not enough sun and by the time I decided to bring some indoors for a warm, not enough light ... Grrr!
