Late

8:30pm and just taking the weeWeir up to bed.

Yet another late night - an hour and a half after normal bedtime.

But she's been on good form, so I'm really not complaining.

It's been great to share this Christmastime with her as she's really into it. Not merely the shredding of paper to see what's inside the parcels, but the active participation in all that's going on.

The advent season of anticipation and expectation was fun too, putting things on the advent tree, reading stories and clearly the daily ritual of the advent calendar too.

It's my brother-in-law's birthday today, so we had a wee gathering to cut (more) cake to mark the occasion. I had hoped to take him away for a wee birthday surprise, but the forecast proved right and the weather wasn't compatible with the intended surprise. Perhaps tomorrow.

Spent quite a bit of the day with him too, which was nice. Mainly relaxed, including the moment when the weeWeir decided that painting her body was more fun that painting on paper.

Funny that she still takes milk in a bottle. Not much, and often not actually drunk until the morning, but it's with her when she goes to sleep.

We are only young once, right?

Or maybe we all need to be young at heart.
