Sky Lantern Light Trail

Ten minutes into the New Year, and we're watching the fireworks of Bradford and Leeds from the upstairs window. Drifting above the city lights we notice orange lights, moving steadily with the wind. After a minute we realise they must be Chinese sky lanterns, we'd never seen so many before. So here's a shaky hand-held two second lantern light trail to mark the New Year.

Later, we hosted our major family gathering of the Christmas break and for the first time in a couple of years managed to get us all in the same place at the same time. With my Mum at the head, four siblings and partners, a full set of nephews and nieces (including a certain young man fresh from beating Man Utd the day before), and a single great nephew, we were twenty-five in all. A great, long family day, which is why this is a back blip, and why I'm so behind on commenting on all of your journals.

A belated Happy New Year to you all.
