Morocco Trip day 3 - Woken up early

After a late arrival the night before we were woken up at day break by the call to pray from the main mosque in Marrakesh (the Koutoubia) which was a stones throw away. Most of us had not stayed in a Muslim country before and were were startled by the volume and Alex from China was clearly petrified. We then started to hear the noise of the traffic as it appeared the hotel served as a traffic island.

The view from the roof was amazing with the white painted houses tightly packed and spreading like lego to the horizon. We were given a quick tour of the market then into the souks and connected residential areas. We saw the problems with sewage and rubbish collections before visiting a herbalist to see the range of products produced in Morocco. In the afternoon we were taken to a tannery to see the environmental impact it had on the surrounding area and its workers.
