Dark Sky

As predicated the weather became very wet and windy again during the night and early morning and I did not particularly want to go out. However, Mr A had another dentist appointment and I needed to do some things in town so we both went in together. Some roads were closed and others had trees down, which were partially blocking them. When we came home about an hour later, even more roads were closed.

Compared to some areas our winds and rain are not too bad. Apart from a few things being blown around the garden, the only damage, so far, was to the chicken house roof. Fortunately we do not have any chickens at the moment, so they were not harmed. Oh yes and we have a bee hive which is tilting at a strange angle!

This photograph, taken just before we went out to repair the chicken house roof, shows the dark skies, but with a touch of blue. This shows a very big contrast when compared with yesterday's golden sky. On investigation, it was not just the roof that had lifted off, but the frame as well. It was very heavy and as we were lifting it into place and securing it, there was a hail storm!

I hope everyone is safe and that you are not encountering too much damage, but I think that is a vain hope looking at some of the destruction on the news.
