Moorgate Dawn: 400

I was heading in to work early for a full day's workshop, and the walk down to the station was just at the right time to catch the best of the dawn colours.

Moorgate is the last of row of houses in the village before the moor, or, as it is for me, the first row as you enter the village from the moor. Gate is from the old Norse for street, or way, and is very common in Yorkshire street names. A lot of Yorkshire dialect is derived from Old Norse.

This is also my four hundredth blip, and those of you that remember blip 365 might like to know that my creation is a bit bedraggled, but still alive and well, withstanding snow, frost, rain and wind. The grass is growing up around it now though, which shows what a mild winter it's been.
