Rock riding school

No prizes for any Sound of music fans who have already spotted where this is.

It's one of the 2 current festival halls in Salzburg although this is the smaller and has many issues with damp and small rocks dropping onto the stage it is also where the Von Trapp family gave their concert during the escape in the film.

The other festival hall is also pretty amazing, it sits 2500 and seems quite big until you go backstage and realise that it's about 10 times bigger behind the safety curtain than you expect. I guess you need this when you are putting on different operas 3 days a week plus classical concerts between them.

Both halls are used for just 2 months a year but with seats costing over £300 each they have a turnover around £60 million a year.
