Kissing Cousins?

C and I took a stroll with Miss Annie at Lake Padden today. We met someone on the trail with this very handsome and well-behaved 7-year-old male Aussie. Miss Annie approved. She's very particular -- she does not like fidgety dogs, nor will she tolerate ones that try to be dominant. Yesterday in Fairhaven she firmly rejected the attention of an Aussie who didn't meet her criteria, with a very clear snarl and gnashing of teeth. I've seen her do that to dogs who weigh twice as much as she does. When we adopted her she appeared to have been abused by a previous owner, and was very timid. It was wonderful to see her gradually become more confident and assertive. Sometimes she's a little too assertive!
