Occupy with flowers

On this bright but extremely chilly afternoon I called in at the Occupy Norwich camp down on the Haymarket to attend today's General Assembly and catch up with the folks down there. Tomorrow, 15th January, marks the 3 month anniversary of the occupation in Norwich.

The Occupy Norwich group has been asking people to complete a survey to try and gauge what people's perceptions are of the Occupy movement and the interim findings are available here. If you've not completed the survey but would like to, please follow the link to it on the Occupy Norwich website.

Throughout the UK some occupations have broken camp for the winter months and become 'virtual', some have moved into buildings and others - including Norwich - are still maintaining their outdoor, tented camps. The Norwich site includes 2 yurts, built by camp members from recycled materials, and is situated in one of the busiest shopping streets in the city - perfect for making contact with members of the public who want to know more about what they can do as individuals to bring about social and economic change.

'Occupy' is a global movement. For on-the-spot details of what's happening in Portland, Oregon check out this journal entry from Kendall is here.
