Heading for the Hills

Beautiful Winter sunshine on the Cumbrian fells

Making the most of the brief winter Sunshine this weekend.Headed for Wasdale & had a walk up Haycock 2618ft as guided in Wainwrights Pictorial Guide. This fell along with this route is one of the less popular in the wasdale valley which provides peace it self.Unlike Scafell Pike just across the lake which can be like a conveyer belt of walkers. The sun stayed with me for most of the walk with clear visability in all directions, Haycock summit was covered in ice & verrrry cold even with all the winter gear on, so i did nt hang around & made my descent getting back to the car just as darkness fell. Problem is rain is forcast next week, Typical. Take care all. G
