Travels With 4 Wheel Fred

Like Being On An Island. But Not.

We went way out West today. As far West as we could go without getting wet feet!
Up the road and along the coast, then down and down until we literally could not go any further.

The South Rhins is a fantastic area; long beaches, beautiful rolling countryside, lots of interesting fishing ports and what was best of all today.... not many other folk!

I've been wanting to explore this area for a long time, but we've never quite made it. I think the furthest we've been before was Newton Stewart for one of the rally's over that way.

Today the sun was shining, we managed to get on the road early in the morning and it all went to plan. We went along the A75 to Stranraer, so that we could spend the day exploring the coast, while travelling back homewards.

Portpatrick, Port William, the Isle of Whithorn and of course the Mull of Galloway lighthouse where just some of the highlights of the day.

The whole area just felt so different to the rest of the coast.
The sea was different.
The air was different.

It was just like being on an island... but not an island.
